DeKalb Brilliance Academy, Multiple Positions

DeKalb Brilliance Academy, a tuition-free, public Kindergarten-8th grade South DeKalb charter school approved to enroll grades K-2 in 2022 (adding a grade each year) is seeking talented leaders for our founding roles (Dean of Special Education, Reading Specialist, Special Education Teacher, Lead Teacher (K, 1, 2, or enrichment), and Assistant Teacher). Together with hundreds of families and community members, we have designed a school that brings real world learning into our classrooms from experts in our community. Examples of our Entrepreneurial Project-based Learning approach include Kindergarteners working with an environmental engineer to design a park, 5th graders working with lawyers to construct arguments about ethical decisions, or 8th graders working with a financial planner on an investment competition. Our students will work in teams with experts on projects all semester long, and will present their own ideas to financial planners, lawyers, scientists, artists, and political leaders that reflect their own identities. Our model will ensure our students know they have the talent and ideas to design a better and more equitable world.
